Ashford Instrumentation offers the widest range of pressure measuring instrumentation for the commercial diving and subsea market. Established in 2003, our Diving & Subsea Division now has a “worldwide” reputation for supplying specialist instrumentation. The Diving, Marine and Subsea Division showcases our specialist range of DMS products, including pneumo and caisson gauges, subsea gauges, thermometers and transmitters and calibration equipment for monitoring and maintenance.

Caisson Gauges, Hyperbaric Chamber Gauges, Decompression Chamber Gauges, Pneumo Gauges, Depth Gauges, Dive Panel Gauges, Subsea pressure gauges, Subsea Pressure Transmitters and Subsea Thermometers form part of our extensive range of diving & marine products.

Caisson gauges can be supplied in diameters from 160mm to 300mm and are used to accurately measure the pressure within the chamber. Both conventional “C” profile bourdon tube and helical tube direct drive options are available.

Pneumo gauges can be supplied in diameters from 100mm to 300mm and are used to accurately measure diver depth or the pressure in caisson gauges from an external control panel. Our range of pneumo gauges includes conventional bourdon tube designs as well as direct drive options. Increasingly mechanical instruments are being replaced with DNV / GL approved pressure transmitters and panel mount digital displays and we feature below a range of these electronic products.

Subsea Gauges depending on the diameter, measures water depths down to 4000 meters and our range of compensated subsea gauges can be used to depths of 7000m subsea.

“Premium Pneumo” Depth Gauge – Oxygen Service

The Ashford Instrumentation Ltd Premium Pneumo Gauge is a  precision pressure gauge used for diver depth monitoring or for measuring the pressure within a hyperbaric chamber. The Premium Pneumo Gauge features the ability to zero the pointer via an adjustment screw located on the front of the gauge as well as having a Full Safety Pattern design case to “S3” standard as defined in the European standard EN837-1. This means that this fully degreased gauge is suitable for use on oxygen.

Pneumo Depth Gauge – Premium “Mini” Design (Full Safety Pattern “S3”) 

The Ashford Instrumentation Ltd 100mm diameter Premium Mini Pneumo Depth Gauge has been designed for commercial diving companies measuring either diver depth or hyperbaric chamber pressure where a compact gauge is required with a measuring accuracy of  0.25% full scale. These instruments are fully degreased for oxygen service and feature mirror band dials & knife edge pointers. This instrument complies fully with all the safety guidelines of European Standards EN 837 – 1 relating to pressure gauges for use on oxygen applications.

Direct Drive Helical Pneumo Depth Gauge

The advantage of direct drive pneumo gauges over conventional C- tube gauges is simple. There is only one moving part, no gears, linkages or springs to wear or break. The unique helical-wound elastic element is attached directly to the pointer shaft. This eliminates the need for any movement-amplifying gears or linkages (the parts of a C-tube that fail most frequently). Direct drive gauges maintain their structural integrity and accurate calibration in the most demanding environments, even during prolonged and rugged use.

Marine Pressure Transmitter with Germanischer Lloyd (GL) & Det Norske Veritas (DNV) Approval

Germanischer Lloyd (GL) & Det Norske Veritas (DNV) Approved fixed range pressure transmitters available in a wide selection of pressure  ranges that are ideal for various marine applications. This product, in combination with our DMS991 Digital Display, is supplied as a modern digital alternative to conventional pneumo gauge for diver depth or caisson pressure monitoring.

DIRECT DRIVE PREMIUM CAISSON GAUGE

Premium design caisson pressure gauge for mounting inside hyperbaric chambers, caissons, living chambers & decompression chambers; used for measuring the simulated depth (pressure) inside the chamber or used to measure the pressure within a pressure system operating inside the chamber.

The gauge is designed to be surface or panel mounted within the chamber and is constructed around the workings of a conventional bourdon tube pressure gauge. This design allows the instrument to be bench calibrated in a similar fashion to other oxygen cleaned bourdon tube pressure gauges.

Standard Caisson Gauge

In its standard design, the measuring element of this instrument is manufactured with a 1/4″ BSP female connection that is  sealed off forming part of the internal reference chamber and balance valve arrangement. Optionally the gauge can be manufactured with a 1/4″ BSP male connection if you intend the gauge to be connected/vented to atmospheric pressure outside the chamber.

CAISSUB” Wet Area Caisson Gauge – 160mm Diameter Waterproof Case

160mm diameter “Caissub” premium design caisson pressure gauge for mounting inside web bells or other applications where the gauge is likely to be splashed or submerged in water. This gauge is used to measure the atmospheric pressure within the web bell or caisson chamber and can if needed be submerged in water to a depth of 450m.

Mini Caisson Gauge – 63mm Subsea 450m Gauge

The Ashford Instrumentation 63mm  450 Series Subsea  Gauge is able to withstand depths of up to 450 meters and is ideal for diving bell and caisson applications. The instrument can be mounted internally or externally of the bell to measure either on board gas bottle pressure or atmospheric pressure within the bell depending on the application. The robust design ensures that accurate measurement is possible without being affected by changes in atmospheric conditions within the bell. Becasue of the robust construction, the gauge is ideal for most subsea liquid and gas applications to a depth of 450m.

Compensated Subsea Gauge – 150 and xxx Stainless Steel Case

Conventional subsea pressure gauges rely on the strength of the case and window to withstand the external pressure of the water in much the same way as a marine. The Ashford Instrumentation range of compensated subsea pressure gauges work on a different principle which negates the necessity of having an expensive reinforced case although there are some limits on the applications this design can be used on. The compensated subsea gauge features a liquid filled case that has a special device that allows the internal of the case to be pressurised equal to the increase in ambient of the water as the gauge is submerged. The benefit of this method is that as the internal and external pressure remains in balance there is no need for a pressure proof case and window to be fitted and in theory there is no limit to which this gauge can be submerged.

Subsea Pressure Gauge – 63mm Premium Subsea 1200m Gauge

63mm diameter premuim subsea bourdon tube pressure gauge suitable for submerged depths to 1200m. The case of this gauge is machined from a solid stainless steel block and is capable of withstanding an external pressure of 120 bar. The bourdon tube design is suitable for all gaseous and liquid media that are not highly viscous and that will not solidify, crystallize, attack or corrode 316 Stainless Steel.

Subsea Pressure Gauge – 63mm Premium Subsea 2000m Gauge 

63mm diameter premium subsea bourdon tube pressure gauge suitable for submerged depths to 2000m. The case of this gauge is machined from a solid stainless steel block and is capable of withstanding an external pressure of 200 bar. The bourdon tube design is suitable for all gaseous and liquid media that are not highly viscous and that will not solidify, crystallize, attack or corrode 316 Stainless Steel.

Subsea Pressure Gauge – 100mm Premium Subsea 4000m “Ultra Deep” Gauge 

Nominal 100mm diameter premuim subsea bourdon tube pressure gauge suitable for submerged depths. The case of this gauge is machined from a solid stainless steel block and is capable of withstanding an external pressure of 400 bar. The bourdon tube design is suitable for all gaseous and liquid media that are not highly viscous and that will not solidify, crystallize, attack or corrode 316 Stainless

Subsea Pressure Gauge – 100mm Premium Subsea 6000m “Supasub” Gauge

The Ashford Instrumentation “Supasub” gauge with nominal 100mm diameter (140mm across bezel)  premium subsea bourdon tube pressure gauge suitable for submerged depths to 6000m as standard.
The case of this gauge is machined from a solid stainless steel block and is capable of withstanding an external pressure of 600 bar. The bourdon tube design is suitable for all gaseous and liquid media that are not highly viscous and that will not solidify, crystallize, attack or corrode 316 Stainless Steel.
Due to the robust construction of this gauge please note that the case has an external diameter of 140mm X 100mm depth and the gauge has a Natron glass window with a thickness of 45mm. Weight is around 9Kg (dry case).

Subsea Depth Gauge – 100mm Diameter to 900m Depth  

100mm diameter premium  subsea pressure gauge suitable for maximum submerged depths of 900m. The gauges features a sealed 316 stainless steel case that acts as an internal reference chamber.

The process port is left open to the sea water and the gauge will read the head pressure of the sea water as it descends. Standard scale is Meters Sea Water although Feet Sea Water or alternative special scales are also available.

The case of this gauge is machined from a solid stainless steel block and is capable of withstanding an external pressure of  90 bar.

63mm Miniature Caisson Gauge – Submersible 450m 

3mm diameter bourdon tube subsea pressure gauge suitable for depths to 450m.
The compact and robust design of this gauge means it is ideal for for use on diving bells and caissons since it can be used inside or outside the bell. They are commonly used inside or outside diving bells for on-board gas management. Manufactured with a 316 stainless steel case with brass bourdon tube in to ranges up to 28 bar and 316 stainless steel bourdon tube in ranges from 40 bar to 400 bar.
The Subsea 450 Series gauges is an ideal general purpose subsea gauge suitable for all subsea applications down to 450m depth.
These instruments are suitable for all gaseous and liquid media that are not highly viscous and that will not solidify, crystallize, attack or corrode brass or 316 Stainless Steel.

160mm High Pressure Gauge – Ranges To 60000 PSI / 4000 Bar 

160mm diameter class 1 bourdon tube pressure gauge designed for extremely high pressure process applications where 316 stainless steel wetted parts are suitable.
These instruments are suitable for all gaseous and liquid media that are not highly viscous and that will not solidify, crystallize, attack or corrode stainless steel.
This gauge is designed for applications according to the European Standard EN837-1 and optionally full safety pattern design with solid baffle wall and blow out back is also available to EN837-1/S3 and ASME. B40.1
Typical applications for this type of instrument include high pressure water jet technology such as water cutting machines, hydro blasting pumps & turbines and hydrodemolition
